Police interview Sheffield couple after workers fall ill



A couple said they had been disappointed to be below police research after employees reducing down bushes claimed they have become sick after eating beverages the pair made for them.

The three people were employed as part of a arguable sheffield council tree felling scheme.

South yorkshire police stated it was investigating.

Sue unwin and her husband john said they were shocked while detectives arrived at their domestic final week.

The couple stated the incident dated back to october after they were requested to make two teas and an orange juice for employees felling bushes out of doors their residence.

"they [the police] instructed us that three crew were sick and that the best not unusual thing turned into our liquids," stated mrs unwin.

She said that when the police cautioned a laxative could have been used she invited them to search the house.

"i said to them 'you can appearance in our cabinets for laxatives; we don't have laxatives inside the house'," she said.

"we're both vegetarians and we haven't any problems in that direction."

Mrs unwin said: "it is very provoking that they must suppose we'd even don't forget doing something like that to all people. I would not try this to my worst enemy."

A south yorkshire police spokesperson said: "officers have finished forensic checks and feature spoken to a number of witnesses concerning this matter and inquiries are ongoing."

Greater than five,000 trees were reduce down in the metropolis as a part of a council authorized programme attracting protests.

The authority insisted those earmarked for felling are both "risky, lifeless, diseased, demise, adverse or discriminatory".

Campaigners say many of those timber are healthy specimens which must now not be reduce down.
