Vila, one of world's oldest gorillas, dies in captivity at 60

One of the oldest gorillas within the global has died at the age of 60.

San diego zoo safari park announced on friday that vila, who became born inside the congo in 1957, died surrounded through members of her family troop.

She became the "matriarch", they stated, of five generations.

"there are only a few gorillas everywhere close to that age," stated peggy sexton, a lead animal keeper at the safari park in california. Gorillas usually live for 35-40 years.
